NXT: Who could be challenging Adam Cole for the title on October 2nd

As we saw on NXT this past week, Killian Dain and Matt Riddle went to war. It got to the point that the entire roster came out and we saw a melee to close out NXT’s debut episode on USA Network. Although, the ending was actually done on the WWE Network. WWE would release a video through their YouTube page to show what happened after the cameras stopped rolling. In the middle of all the chaos, NXT general manager William Regal came out.

He bolted right for the ring and would try and restore order. He announced that we will see Matt Riddle and Killian Dain take on each other next week, but with a twist. It was announced that the winner of this match would become the number one contender for the NXT title. The NXT title is currently held by Undisputed Era’s Adam Cole. I figure we will see Matt Riddle win over Dain and set up for a match with Adam Cole on the October 2nd episode. In one episode, they are already making that episode seem special. In addition to seeing Adam Cole defend the NXT title on that episode, Shayna Bazler will be taking on Candice LeRae for the NXT women’s title.

As far as the NXT title match, I doubt Adam Cole will be dropping the belt. I know there’s been rumblings that Vince McMahon wants him on the main roster, but as long as he has the belt it won’t happen. As we have seen with other NXT call ups like EC3, Eric Young, The War Raiders, Samoa Joe, and others; Adam Cole won’t be dropping the belt. However, I don’t know if this would go on longer. There’s so many people in NXT who deserve a shot at the title that it’s insane.
