Tough Run Before Bye

Even before the Steelers take their mid season break, they’ll only face one division rival before a bye. That doesn’t mean their schedule isn’t loaded with challenges before then. They’ll face the Bills who were AFC East champs, the Packers who were NFC North Champs, and Seahawks who were NFC West champs all before their bye. From there there are very few games that won’t challenge them.

Tough Divisional Competition

The NFC North might be the most fairly balanced division this season. The Ravens have been pushing their way back into the mix and the Browns came out of nowhere last season. If Joe Burrow and his new favorite weapon Ja’Marr Chase can re-establish their connection it will be no cake walk through the division. Pittsburgh will face their toughest competition this year and most of it will come after their bye.

AFC Challenges

Then of course there’s AFC contenders to worry about. Everyone knows how good the Chiefs are, but the Titans were also playoff contenders last year and added a big weapon in Julio Jones. Justin Herbert looked like an NFL quarterback with a mission last year and if they’re healthy the Chargers will be tough to beat. Sprinkle the Raiders in as a wild this year and all paths to the playoffs are long this season for the Steelers.

If you go by last year’s win %, the Pittsburgh Steelers have one of the toughest schedules going into the 2021 season. Fans better hope they’re up for a challenge.
