Playstation: 5 Showcase Games We Can’t Wait For

PlayStation’s God Of War Ragnarok

Since pulling out of E3 this year, Sony decided to host their own Playstation Showcase to preview upcoming games for their next-generation consoles. Looking back at the list (here), here’s what we’re most excited for:

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is an all-time classic/fan favorite and we’re finally getting a remake. When it comes to video games, this one is easily one of the more played through games in our vault. What’s curious about this is the original game was an Xbox exclusive all the way back in 2003 and will be making its way to Playstation this time around.

Wolverine:

The same studio making bank with their Spider-Man games is keeping the superhero theme going with Wolverine. Two issues immediately come to mind with this one. First, how do they keep the family-friendly nature of this game when the main character’s weapon is designed to hack and slash and probably get bloody. Second, how big can they make the game/map without having to run everywhere? Spider-Man works great because you can easily navigate the whole city by web-slinging?

Spider-Man 2:

Speaking of Spider-Man, we’re finally getting a sequel to the popular game. Not the one starring Miles Morales that easily deserved a spinoff but a true sequel. What more is there to love with these games? Oh, just the fact they finally added Venom back to the gaming world. However, if he’s not a playable character attacking other symbiotes, we don’t want it.

God Of War: Ragnarok

Aren’t you sick of God of War yet? Good, us neither. When they pivoted from Greek gods to Norse gods the gaming world was skeptical. This long-time Playstation exclusive needed a fresh take after the original series. Now that they’ve pivoted, the game has new life and is just as good as the originals.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderland

Tiny Tina’s Wonderland comes from the worlds of Borderlands, specifically Borderlands 2. By the looks of it, this will be a full-scale spinoff of the Bunkers and Badasses DLC from the classic game. Tiny Tina is epically hilarious and for sure deserves her own game so we can’t wait for this to come to Playstation.
