Power: We Now Know The Plot For Tommy’s Spinoff
Power fans were not too thrilled when it was revealed that young Tariq St. Patrick would be headlining his own show. However, Season One of Power Book 2: Ghost has been a huge success. Tariq has proven to be quite the star but during the Season Finale, a familiar face made a return which set the stage for his own Power spinoff.
Tommy Egan, the charismatic killer from the original, returned to settle old scores. With Tommy supposedly heading off to California after the murder of his best friend Ghost, viewers thought they saw the last of him until his spinoff took place. But no. Tommy made his presence felt and gave fans insight into what his storyline will entail.

With Ghost dying in his arms, Tommy promised he wouldn’t touch Tariq but he didn’t say anything about Tasha. Tommy’s return in Power Book 2 was all about revenge. With Tasha on trial, she was set to place the blame on Tommy and he was not about to let her do that. And let’s not forget that it was Tasha who killed his fiance. Tommy has a score to settle with the woman he once considered his sister.
But Tariq got the upper hand on Tommy and made sure that Tasha was taken into Witness Protection to protect his mother from his deranged uncle. But that’s just the beginning. According to showrunner Courtney Kemp, this is why she set up his return the way she did.
there were a couple things we wanted to do. I wanted to free the character up so he could do whatever he wanted, and I wanted him to be able to move around the country.
Although Tasha and Tariq may believe that she’s safe, Tommy is not the one who should be slept on. With his base of operations in California now, fans can bet the bank that his storyline will involve drugs but also the search for Tasha.
Who knows if Tommy I’ll get to her but the cat and mouse chase between the three will be fun to watch.
