Riverdale: Are We Sad To See The End Of These Relationships?

Riverdale

In all fairness, not everyone was going to make it out of high school untouched. The characters of Riverdale are known for their scandals, death, boxing, investigation skills, and running Speak Easy’s under Diners. But most of all, the cast is known for their relationships. Since the beginning of the show, someone was always tied to another. If Betty was around, then Jughead wasn’t too far behind. The same goes for Veronica and Archie.

Even the parents found their way into the relationship arena with F.P. and Alice finally getting together after years of being apart. Hermoine and Hiram were never the “it’ couple they portrayed to be outside of the house. So, when it was announced that Season 5 would be a flash-forward of seven years, it was safe to say that some of our favorite relationships would end and they might not end gracefully.

Archie/Veronica

Of all the relationships on the show, maybe Archie and Veronica lasted longer than they should have. The two were always at odds even when things were going their way. Archie had no direction while Veronica was full of plans. But even still, Veronica was willing to put her plans to the side and wait for Archie. Seeing them split in the manner in which they did was not some of the best writing. But seeing them go their separate ways, was a great sight for real fans of the show. They simply did not belong together.

Jughead/Betty

Depending on who you ask, Betty and Jughead are a better match than Archie and Betty. They have had their share of ups and downs over the years but have they ever had a major fight? Their breakup was to be expected, especially since the Archie and Betty kiss but was it deserved? These two have fought off death, serial killers, and even lived under the same roof.

F.P./Alice

What was supposed to be years ago, finally came to fruition at the right time. The couple shared a roof and kids but their happy ending didn’t last long. F.P., looking to help his daughter Jellybean made a decision to leave Riverdale and head to Ohio. That in turn, broke up their relationship. But what was weird about it was that F.P. did not even invite Alice to come with them.

Hiram/Hermione

Hiram is no good for anybody. In the early stages, it was Hermione who stayed by his side but as time wore on, even the loving wife had enough. With the girls looking to take over their father’s business, Hermione knew that it was her time to escape. Instead of living it up on a beach somewhere, Hermione decided to move to the Hamptons and join the cast of the Real Housewives of New York and leave Hiram in Riverdale.

Cheryl/Toni

This one hurt the most. Cheryl is by far the best character on the show and she and Toni’s relationship was nothing short of magical. To see them go their separate ways was a punch in the gut but it was understandable. Cheryl wants to fix the wrongdoings her family has caused over the years and Toni, the “ride or die” that she is, was willing to stay behind and help before Cheryl refused.
