ROH: Rush to get a World Title shot at Death before Dishonor

As we mentioned yesterday, ROH Champion Matt Taven’s contract is set to expire with the company. However, he still currently holds the ROH title. As of this writing, he has a title defense happening on September 7th against Voldor Jr. If Taven is able to defeat Voldor, we know who he will be facing at Death before Dishonor on September 27.

Ring of Honor announced that Rush will be getting a World title shot at the show. If we do get a Taven/Rush battle at Death before Dishonor, it would make perfect sense to have Taven drop the belt to Rush. Rush made his ROH debut in late 2018 and hasn’t looked back. He has three loses. However, it’s worth noting that those all happen to be in tag or multi-man matches. As of this writing, he has yet to lose a singles match. When you have gotten that kind of push, it is safe to say that the company is investing time into your character. However, this isn’t the first time we have seen a wrestler go unbeaten to lose when he got a title match. Jeff Cobb was on a run like Rush is and ended up losing in a short match to Matt Taven.

With having Rush going for the title, he could make history. If he walks out of Las Vegas as the champion, he could become the first Mexican born superstar to ever hold the Ring of Honor belt. As we have seen in his previous matches, Rush is over. He has become a crowd favorite and one that Ring of Honor could build the company around.

We are a few weeks away from Death before Dishonor. We should know sooner rather than later as to who Rush will be facing in Las Vegas. Stay locked into Caveman Radio Show and Comeback Wrestling Show as we will continue to keep our fans up to date,
