WWE Rumors: Roman Reigns Wrestlemania plans reveled
It seems that WWE had to make a switch at the Royal Rumble. In the weeks leading up to the Royal Rumble, many fans of the WWE Universe were expecting that the inaugural WWE Universal champion Finn Balor would make his return after being out since the night after Summerslam. There were even reports going around that Finn Balor was visiting with doctors to see if he could be medically cleared. As it was shown on Sunday night as #30 came out and Roman Reigns came out instead.
After the Royal Rumble went off the air, reports started to surface that Finn Balor did not receive the proper clearance that was needed. One reason why Roman Reigns was chosen last minute for the last spot was that it would almost guarantee that once Randy Orton won the Royal Rumble, it would get cheered. Apparently, the plan heading into Wrestlemania was for Finn Balor to face Undertaker and Roman Reigns was set to face Braun Strowman. However, when Roman Reigns would eliminate the Undertaker it was done to set up a match between Roman Reigns and the Undertaker at Wrestlemania.
Since Braun Strowman screwed Roman Reigns in his WWE Universal title, the feeling is that two will end up colliding at Fastlane. It will be interesting to see if the Undertaker somehow costs Roman Reigns that match and thus setting up their Wrestlemania match. This happens to be the third time in recent time that the plans for the Undertaker’s Wrestlemania 33 as he was originally set to fight John Cena, but those plans were scrapped in December by Vince McMahon.
Since it seems more than likely that Roman Reigns and Undertaker are set to collide at Wrestlemania, the problem now lies in the fact that what does WWE do with Finn Balor and Braun Strowman. My guess is that they have Braun win the Andre the Giant Battle Royal and save Finn Balor’s return for the night after Wrestlemania.
