Seattle Seahawks: Offseason Panic Mode 2021 Edition

Seahawks Russell Wilson

Despite making the playoffs, the Seattle Seahawks have an uphill battle this offseason. Rumors of an unhappy quarterback and a team seemingly off the rails, can they get back on track and back to the Super Bowl while avoiding panic mode?

Russell Wilson Rumors

There have been rumors that Russell Wilson is unhappy. There have also been rumors that Seattle might be trading their long-time franchise quarterback. While there are plenty available free agents and draftees, there aren’t many upgrades over Wilson. If Seattle decides to move on, they might as well go full fire sale and start the rebuild process.

Fix the Offensive Line

The whole reason Wilson is unhappy with the Seahawks is, he’s tired of running for his life. Each year he’s sacked more than any other quarterback in the NFL. Despite the pressure, the star QB still finds ways to make it happen. If Seattle would find a way to fix the line they’d have zero problems with explosive plays.

Is Pete Carroll The Problem?

Of course, we all remember the infamous pass on the goal line in the Super Bowl. That was the first red flag. While Carroll has kept the Seahawks competitive, he’s 100% responsible for the overall happiness of his stars. He also has input to the front office on what he needs to put together a winning team. The fact that the Seahawks can’t find a way to fix their line and keep their QB happy is on him. Unfortunately for Seahawks fans, he wins just enough to keep ownership happy without pressure. Seattle needs Carroll to step up and find a way to solve the in-house unrest and get this team back to the Super Bowl.

Find More Explosive Playmakers On Offense

While the Seahawks have talent on offense, they lack both depth and explosiveness. They could use 1-2 receivers who can attack all levels of the defense. Finding guys who can play underneath and get YAC as well as stretch the field is a must. Even with their current group, the depth to give those guys plays off without losing a step is a priority. At running back, Seattle needs someone who can be involved in both run and passing games. Scrambling Wilson one way while the running back heads the opposite direction is the misdirect they need. They need a 1,000-yard rusher and 500 yard receiving back who turns short plays into big gains.

With all the offseason rumors floating around, the Seattle Seahawks have plenty of distractions to avoid. If they can’t block out the noise, look for their play on the field to suffer.
