Shazam! Will Come To Six Flags At Some Point
When will Shazam make its way to Six Flags? The early reports are the newest DC Universe film will be a big hit. Knowing Six Flags, they’ll use the superhero in their parks for some of their attractions. What parks and rides can we expect to see the newest on-screen superhero?
Six Flags has used just about every character from the DC Universe. In fact, a lot of the heroes and villains have been done multiple times for different rides. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Joker, Harley Quinn, even Cyborg, have all been recycled. It’ll be nice to get some new faces on the rides.
While there are a lot of repeated characters, there are still some that have yet to be used. We are getting a Supergirl attraction at Six Flags St. Louis, and a Flash re-theme of a coaster at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Shazam should be getting something in the near future. Box office success will only lead to more dollars in the bank for Six Flags.
It’s unclear what a Shazam attraction would feature. More than likely it would be a coaster or flat ride. Judging by the current superhero/villain attractions, the ride should have something to do with the characteristics of the featured hero/villain. For instance, Wonder Woman Lasso Of Truth (Pendulum ride), Superman Ultimate Flight (flying coaster). What does that mean for Shazam? Not sure.
It could very well be that Shazam just goes on an attraction that a Six Flags parks already operates. Two rides which we know Six Flags will build more of, the gyrosphere (Cyborg, Harley Quinn) spinning attraction, dual looping coaster (Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster). It then comes down to what parks will use Shazam?
Just the name alone will draw guests to the park. Put a Shazam attraction at some less busy parks. Some that come to mind, Six Flags America, St. Louis, Darien Lake, parks that could use a boost in attendance or more of a DC presence.
There are already some aspects of Shazam in the parks. The infamous Six Flags capes, which many love, have Shazam as a character. In fact, I saw two kids with a Shazam cape, yelling out, “Shazam.” The caped hero already has a following, even if it’s younger children.
There’s a good amount of interest in Shazam. It’s just a matter of time until the character makes his way to Six Flags parks. There’s a lot of interest in him right now. It’d be dumb for the park to not capitalize on the success.
