Six Flags: The Three Most Interesting New Ride Announcements

Six Flags

Six Flags has made their 2020 park announcements. Some might call this an off-year for the chain, as they didn’t spend the money of previous years. Still, there are some quality rides coming to the local parks. There were three that stood out.

First, the Jersey Devil, which is coming to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. This will be the tallest, fastest, and longest single rail coaster in the world. There are currently 2 of these models in the world (Railblazer at California Great America, Wonder Woman at Six Flags Fiesta Texas). Unlike the other 2, Jersey Devil isn’t a clone. This is a brand new layout.

Next, we get Aquaman Power Coaster at Six Flags Over Texas. This model is a MACK Power Splash. It’s essentially a shuttle coaster that splashes you into a pool of water. The technology is all very advanced. There aren’t many of these in the world. In fact, this will be the first in the States.

Lastly, there’s Vipere coming to La Ronde. This Intamin Zac Spin is a relocation from Six Flags Magic Mountain. Yes, this is the former Green Lantern coaster. One of the only Zac Spin’s left standing, La Ronde gets a unique ride, even if it’s recycled from another park.

Why are these three the most interesting new additions to the Six Flags chain? Well, two (Jersey Devil and Aquaman Power Splash) are two fairly new coaster models. As mentioned before, the single rail only has 2 current models. The MACK Power Splash hasn’t been built in the States yet. There’s a lot of intrigue surrounding these coasters.

As for Vipere, La Ronde gets the short end of the stick quite often. Once again, they get a hand me down coaster from another Six Flags park. While those in Montreal will be excited to get a new coaster, you must imagine they want something new.

This was a quiet year for Six Flags. It’s still great that SF gives something new to each park every year. With these new additions, Six Flags once again sets themselves apart from the rest as the leading theme park chain in the world.
