Spider-Man: Far From Home Teaser Trailer (2019).
Ever since Peter Parker showed up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe fans just couldn’t get enough. From Captain America: Civil War to Avengers: Infinity War, his on-screen chemistry with the long list of characters has added some great comedic moments to these blockbuster franchise. So naturally it was only a matter of time before his solo film Spider-Man: Homecoming got its own sequel titled “Spider-Man: Far From Home”.
The most obvious moment taken from this teaser trailer is the fact that Spider-Man is taking his talents outside the New York city limits. By traveling abroad, it foreshadows the point that Peter needs to be more than just a “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” and he needs to expand outside of his comfort zone and accept his fate as the hero he needs to be.
With so much to unpack, there’s a ton of questions from this short trailer alone. Like first, that’s Nick Fury. How did he get into the mix? What will his role be going forward and does it mean Spider-Man will have a larger role in the Avengers post-Endgame?
Secondly, does this reveal the fate of everyone’s snarkiest Avenger Iron Man? We see Tony’s boss Nick Fury. We see Tony’s driver Happy. What we don’t see is Tony Stark. Since Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out after Avengers: Endgame, isn’t it all too suspicious that Iron Man is missing since he was a huge part of Homecoming? Even Stark’s admiration for Aunt May seems to be hinted at from now Happy instead of Tony. Shouldn’t we assume Tony is no longer in the picture?
And finally, there’s the Mysterio aspect of it all. There have been rumors and speculation of Jake Gyllenhaal to be a front runner to replace Ben Affleck as Batman but there are no concrete plans saying Affleck won’t continue. Staying in the superhero realm, Gyllenhaal puts on his cape and plays Mysterio in Far From Home. Now the question is, what side is he on. While he’s mainly a Spider-villain, the trailer throws you off his trail with his willingness to help Spidey. Is this the turn to the dark side we need to see.
Spider-Man: Far From Home might be one of the most anticipated superhero films of the year. Just as important, the film needs to be a blockbuster success. For anyone who’s ever loved and admired Stan Lee’s contribution to these characters, a few short months after his death, his pet project and lifetime baby Spider-Man needs to send him off with a bang. Hopefully, there will be a touching send-off post credits for one of comics greatest creators with his most iconic character. Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to release July 5th, 2019.
