Streaming: The Best Shows You Could Be Watching Right Now

Peacock's streaming Poker Face

All the major networks have officially thrown their hat into the streaming world. While Netflix is trying to shake up the world with the new policies, other streamers are piling on the original content to catch up to the streaming giant. There are plenty of great shows that you could be missing out on. Who’s got the time to sift through them all? Luckily for you, we have you covered. Here are some of the top streaming shows to look out for:

The Last of Us(HBO Max):

The PlayStation exclusive game is now a hit series on HBO. it slides into its typical Sunday slot as the next big thing for the premium channel turned streaming service. Yes, it is another postapocalyptic show with its share of “zombies” and other creatures but done with a twist. Fans are coming fresh off of the end of The Walking Dead and might be looking for their next zombie fix. It shadows the game almost perfectly with a few director choices that change non-key elements to adapt it to television, however, there are still plenty that borrow right for the game. The Last of Us is still early into its first season but will likely turn into a multiple-view type show for the network/streamer.

Shrinking (Apple Tv+):

From the creative minds of Ted Lasso comes Apple Tv+’s next comedy Shrinking. With Jason Segel and Harrison Ford, this comedy starts off with a sad premise of a psychiatrist who’s dealing with the grief of his wife’s passing. It quickly turns into something much funnier as he finally snaps at the most inopportune moment, during one of his patient’s sessions. From there, a series of similar decisions take him down the path of self-discovery, grief, and growth. With a ton of heart and a few good belly chuckles, this one could be another hit for Apple.

Poker Face (Peacock):

A mystery-of-the-week series following Charlie Cale, who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying. She hits the road in her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve.

Poker Face might be the most interesting of the three series. It started off out of the ordinary but quickly turned into something of intrigue, and that was in the first episode. We all enjoy a good mystery and this one is the perfect mix of comedy and mystery.

There’s plenty to watch these days and not enough time to watch it in. Keep checking back as we sift through all the shows you don’t have time to weed out your streaming options.
