Suits Creator Made Huge Error Not Asking Meghan Markle To Return
The lawyer drama Suits is officially over and all die-hard fans want to know is why Rachel Zane, played by Meghan Markle was not in the finale? Well, according to Bazaar, show creator Aaron Korsh never asked. Say what’ How could he not at least send an email to Markle and ask her to return if only for five minutes?
There is a good reason as Markle is now The Duchess of Sussex but before that, she was Rachel Zane. In its final season, Suits did indeed go out with a bang but something was missing. With Mike back in the fold and the Law Firm in serious trouble, it should have been all hands on deck. While her character was mentioned throughout the final episodes, her presence was needed much more.
In an interview with Deadline, Korsh made this statement regarding why he didn’t ask Markle:
In the end I didn’t ask, and I just thought, I’m going to respect her new life and not put her in the position of having to ask,” he told Deadline. “We decided not to put her in that position so I never asked.
Just the thought of him not asking makes my skin itch. The perfect scene would have been at Louis’ wedding, especially considering how close those two were. A quick entrance and no words were all that was needed. But to know we were robbed of that because he didn’t want to put her in that position just doesn’t sit right with me.
Markle left to get married and although she may have wanted some privacy, The Royal Family would have understood five minutes of screen time. This was a farewell to her big break and a closing of the door to her Hollywood life.
If for anything, think about the ratings her appearance would have drawn from everyone around the world waiting tho see The Duchess of Sussex on TV in her final appearance. Big mistake and one that Korsh will have to live with forever.
