Super Bowl 54: Kansas City Chiefs came back to win
On Sunday night, the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers met in Super Bowl 54. In the two weeks leading up to the game, there seemed to be a buzz surrounding the game. One theory was that it was two teams who we usually do not see in the big game. Prior to this game, the Kansas City Chiefs had not made the Super Bowl since they defeated the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl 4 back in 1970. On the other hand, the San Francisco 49ers had not been in the Super Bowl since 2013 when they lost to the Baltimore Ravens.
One big takeaway is the two halves told different stories. The first half closed as the teams were tied 10-10. Each team had a Field Goal and Touchdown in the first half. It seemed that they were trading it off. San Francisco got a field goal. Kansas City answered with a touchdown. Then the 49ers got a touchdown in the second quarter and the Chiefs responded with a field goal. Now the second half was a much different game. The 49ers ended up getting 10 points. However, with the touchdown towards the end of the second quarter, they had 17 unanswered points.
It’s also worth noting that Patrick Mahomes threw two interceptions close to each other. As we were getting into the fourth quarter, the 49ers had a ten-point lead and everyone thought that the 49ers could walk out as champions. However, we have seen a trend with the Chiefs in the postseason this year. No matter how much they are down, they will still find a way to come back and win. As we saw when they played the Texans and Titans, they were down by a lot and found a way to come back.
What makes a good team is one that will fight to the end. Besides winning the Super Bowl, the Chiefs also made more history. They are the first team to come back in three postseason games and win. In addition, Patrick Mahomes becomes the youngest quarterback to win the Super Bowl MVP.
We here at Caveman Radio Show would like to congratulate the Kansas City Chiefs on winning the Super Bowl.
