Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Offseason Panic Mode 2021 Edition
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are Super Bowl champions. There’s almost nothing that they should be means for panic, but with the rest of the division looking up, there’s always concern.
Pressure to Repeat
Very few teams can repeat their Super Bowl success. Many of them lose important pieces who’ve played themselves into new contracts. However, with the Tamp Bay Buccaneers, they’ve done a solid job of putting their winning team back together. Now there will be teams who hold grudges as expected. The Bucs will face twice as much pressure as they did when they got off to a rocky start in 2020.
Aging Out
While the Buccaneers are riding the high of winning, the realization that Father Time is coming has to be crossing their minds. Tom Brady might be ageless but the rest of the team isn’t. With players like Brady, Ndamukong Suh, Jason Pierre-Paul there might only be a couple of good years remaining. Their roster can use a youth movement but if they’re successful too many years in a row, they’ll have to find talent in free agency more than the draft.

Brady, Successful But Struggled
Tom Brady brought a championship demeanor to Tampa Bay, but it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Head coach Bruce Arians calling out Brady multiple times throughout the season highlighted his tough go. There were many games where he threw out of character interceptions. 2020 was his highest interception % since 2011.
Clear the Cap?
While Tom Brady might be taking restructures, the rest of the team has not. The Bucs need to find ways to clear up cap space for their rookies this offseason. Cuts are more than likely on the way, but will those cuts cost key special teams players or depth positions. It comes every season but hurts championship teams most. Can they find cheaper replacements with the same productivity?
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reigning Super Bowl champs. With that being said, they can go 1-15 and fans will still be riding that high. Too bad for the rest of the NFL, Tom Brady seems like he’ll never have a losing season.
