Ted Lasso: Player Profiles Pt 3 – Jamie Tartt
When it comes to Ted Lasso, Jamie Tartt might be one of the more complex characters. He’s full of talent, but also full of arrogance. He’s the guy you love to hate and hate to love. His story arc is a rollercoaster and is one of the best characters in terms of development.
Strengths:
He’s got the talent. Jamie Tartt can score like no other. Professionally, he’s the type of player others should strive to be like. Deep down under the cocky arrogance, there’s an immature young man looking to make his mother proud. Tarrt will dominate on the field and can be an instant game-changer. He might be a once-in-a-lifetime kind of talent. If he ever figures out that futbol is a team sport, AFC Richmond might be an actual contender.

Weaknesses:
He knows he’s got the talent. If you’re someone without a thick skin, Jamie Tartt is going to get under it. Whether you’re an opponent or even on the same team, he really knows how to ruffle feathers. The strength of his game is also the weakness of his personality. He’s a bit of a “prick” according to Roy Kent, but he’s a winner. He’ll never say the right thing, and he rarely does the right thing, but he wants to dominate nonetheless.
The Verdict:
You love him when he’s on your team, but hate him when you play against him. Jamie Tartt is the pest of Ted Lasso, but by the end of season two, there’s sort of a soft spot for him in your heart. He’s got the catchy tune to sing along with on gameday to the tune of Baby Shark. He’s a thorn in the side of most teammates and his selfishness is unrivaled. Still given the opportunity to help a struggling team, he just needs a sense of direction and a guided hand. Whether or not he takes it is a whole other story. Tartt might be a giant pain in the butt, but teams are better when he’s on their side and not the other.
