The Blacklist: 3 Questions Heading Into Season 9
There is only one more season of The Blacklist left and yet, there are still too many unanswered questions. With the departure of Megan Boone as Elizabeth Keen, how will the show proceed after the much-hyped build-up regarding the relationship between her and Raymond Reddington?
Season 8 left fans on the edges of their seats as the writers teased the truth regarding the identity of Reddington. But before it was all revealed, there was a cliffhanger that may change the direction of the show and leave fans wanting more even after the end credits roll on the series.
Here are 3 questions heading into Season 9 of The Blacklist.
Where’s The Truth
Who is Raymond Reddington is still the topic of discussion when it comes to The Blacklist. Fans figured they had a bit of insight with the last two episodes of Season 8 but nothing is ever concrete with this show.
Is Reddington the real Raymond Redington? Is he Katarina Rostova, or he is someone else we’ve not been introduced to yet? Either way, the show must connect the dots and they must do it quickly before viewers began to become more frustrated than they already are.

Is Liz Alive
Despite the gunshot, is Liz alive? Nothing in The Blacklist is ever as it seems and this could be one of those times. Megan Boone has said she’s leaving the show but that does not rule out a cameo at the series finale. To be fair, viewers never actually witnessed her death.
Liz and Red still have unfinished business to attend to and bringing her back will give viewers the proper closure they need to send the series out on a high note. Besides that, the writers never gave Liz and Agnes their proper goodbye.
Even if the truth is revealed in Season 9, it will still feel as if viewers were robbed of a proper ending without one of the main characters.
Why Take Away The Best Storyline Ever
There was a storyline developing in Season 8 that would have changed the direction of The Blacklist. With Liz teaming up with Neville, Cynthia Panabaker gave the “Burn Notice” order on Elizabeth Keen. What that meant is that she had a bounty on her head. But as quickly as it was written, that storyline became an afterthought.
Yes, Megan Boone has left the show but if she had stayed that would’ve been a great storyline to end the series. Raymond Redington has been trying to get Liz To take cover and this would have put her in a great position to do so.
What would have made this storyline so compelling is that her friends in the Task Force would have been forced to track her down. Keen would have been on the run with Reddington and Dembe, much like she was before but this time the stakes would have been much higher.
