The Blacklist: All This And Katarina May Not Be Dead

The Blacklist

A major plot in Season 8 of The Blacklist has Elizabeth Keen seeing revenge on Raymond Redington for him killing her mother. But what if Liz is going to war for nothing? Where is the proof that Red actually killed Katarina Rostova?

Think about it. Go back to all of Red’s exploits when he has an enemy in his sight. When has Red EVER missed his target or his intentions? For the most part, Red has delivered more than one blow, but in some cases, just a single shot to the head.

When Red shot Mr. Kaplan, it was from a pretty close distance but he delivered a single shot to her head. Just luckily for Kate, she survived. But what about Katarina?

Red had Katarina closer to him than he did Kate. But a closer look would reveal that he delivered multiple shots to her arm or shoulder. He was not aiming for the kill shot. He wanted Liz to think she was dead.

No matter what Katarina thinks about Red or may have tried to kill him, if Red loves you, killing you is not in the cards. Yes, he tried to take out Kate but that was so personal that he was forgiven. With Katarina, it’s a matter of the heart.

It goes back to what Liz said to him. She’s coming to kill him but she knows you can’t kill me. It’s the same with her mother. Red understands that killing Katarina would cause Liz to go to a dark place but as Dembe stated, maybe that’s what Red wanted before he handed over his empire to her.

She just needed that push to reach that level. Did he go too far? Maybe he did.

Another clue in which Katarina may not be dead is after Red’s team cleaned up the scene, Red watched in a warehouse as his team wrapped up Katarina’s body in a bag. However, viewers never saw the entire body. All we saw were the legs. Who’s to say that was actually Katarina in that bag? Red still needs answers and killing Katarina would not make much sense knowing the missing pieces to the puzzle are still out there.

Knowing their history, there is no way Liz will stay mad at Red forever. The only way for them to see eye-to-eye again would be for the killing to have been staged.

The Blacklist has been full of twists and turns for eight seasons. And one big final one before before Season 9 hits would only be fitting.
