The Blacklist: Is This The Moment Where The Real Truth Comes Out?
Eventually, it has to come to an end. With the news that The Blacklist will receive another season, how long does this cat and mouse between Raymond Reddington and Elizabeth Keen continue? For most of Season 8, Liz has been in the shadows devising a plan to not only take down Reddington but kill him in the process. But now that they’re face-to-face following the events of “Anne”, it’s time to bring this storyline full circle.
Liz is hell-bent on revenge for Reddington supposedly killing her mother. Is hse justified? In a sense, yes, but Liz is not looking at the big picture. At the end of “Anne”, Reddington walked in on Liz holding a gun to Anne’s head. Is this the moment where Liz gets her revenge for the shooting of Katrina?
Liz understands that in order for Reddington to feel her pain, she has to take away someone that he loves. But what has Anne done to her? Katarina may not be the trader she’s made out to be but she’s no angel either. She has lied to everyone, including Liz herself.

But this moment is what fans have waited for.
This is the real showdown that will take this storyline to another level. For 8 seasons, the writers have kept viewers guessing as to what Red’s plan really is. But what we do know is that Red would never harm Liz, and for that, this must be tied up in a way that can keep the show fresh for the remaining episodes of Season 8 and into Season 9.
Having these two at odds was cool for two episodes but now, it seems like a repeat of Red vs Mr. Kaplan. It’s getting a bit boring. Now that Liz has Anne, maybe she can get the truth out of Reddington finally. Dembe has been against Red not telling her earlier and now seems like the perfect time.
If Reddington does come clean, Liz can get back to somewhat of a normal life, and then they can team up to take down Townsend who appears to be the better choice as an enemy over Liz.
