There is a strong possibility that The Blacklist will end with season 8. But the question still lingers on how? Will Raymond Reddington and Liz work out their differences? Will Dembe and Red would out their differences? And where does Katrina Rostova fit in all of this? One thing is for sure, and that is something is wrong with Reddington.

For two seasons, the writers have teased that Reddington is gravely ill. While his illness is still unknown, he has been making plans for the future. Most notably, Liz’s and Agnes’ future as well as Dembe’s.

The rumor mill is churning that Red could possibly die in Season 8, but how?

With Liz siding with her mother instead of Reddington, Season 8 is sure to be explosive. But what if it all comes down to who will be the one to either kill Red or save him? My money will be on Elizabeth. Regardless of how she feels about Red, her actions at the end of season 7 were nothing new.

From the start, Liz has always tried her best to suppress the darkness in her. But with her mother’s return, she may have no idea where that darkness will take her. But then again, maybe she does. Her time with the Task Force and Reddington has forced Liz to do things she never thought she would.

On more than one occasion, Liz has put Red in situations where his life was put on the line. But there have been occasions where she has put her life on the line for Red. This is where Season 8 of The Blacklist will be a wild ride for the two main characters.

How long will Liz continue her crusade of looking for the truth and defying the one person who has had her back since he walked into the FBI building in the first episode? Although Red has indeed kept some important facts from her, Liz doesn’t seem ready or capable of handling whatever the truth may be. But still, there is hope.

Liz could very well take Red down. Or, she could very well be his savior. With his illness, maybe it’s something that will force Liz to make a decision. Will she have to give blood, a liver or something that could save is life? Liz has been known to make rash decisions and siding with Katarina is one of those examples. However, as in the past when the chips are down and her back was against the wall, it’s been Reddington who has come to her aide.

Will she repay the favor?
