The Blacklist: What Should We Expect In The Final Season?

It’s almost that time. Season 10 of The Blacklist is set to air later this month and while fans are rejoicing for its return, there is still a moment of sadness that comes with its premiere. This will be the final season of one of the best mystery/drama shows of our time. However, before the final credits roll and it’s off the air for good, fans are still left wondering if we will ever get the answers to some of the questions we’ve been holding on to for the last 10 years.

Who is Raymond Reddington? Is Elizabeth Keen still alive? And where is the real Katarina Rostova? The hope is that the writers can tie up all loose ends and not leave the viewers either guessing or craving for more as Lost did with their finale.

Who Is Raymond Reddington

At some point, especially with this being the final season of The Blacklist, we need the answer to the biggest mystery of the show. Who is Raymond Reddington? Clues have been dropped since the first episode but we still have not been given an answer served on a silver platter. Is he a spy, Liz’s father, or is he Katarina? No one knows. It’s clear that when we do find out, we will realize that the answer was right under our noses the entire time.

But enough is enough. It’s time to stop jerking us around. We need to know the main mystery and Season 10 should provide that. Now, the writers could go full-blown Lost on us and leave us guessing even after the final credits roll. While that would be a cruel move, it’s been done before. But please give us what we want. It’s been too long. At one point we thought we were going to get the answers at the end of Season 8, but the writers pulled the plug on that reveal quickly. Although, we did get some great hints.

Will Elizabeth Keen Return

Is Elizabeth Keen dead or not? Although Megan Boone left The Blacklist at the end of Season 8, that does not mean she can’t return. How many times on primetime TV have we seen this happen? Grey’s Anatomy is good for that and so are Chicago Fire and Chicago PD. Why can’t The Blacklist take a page out of their storylines and pull off a great feat by bringing Liz back? For one, she supposedly died not knowing the truth about Raymond Reddington, well at least that’s what the viewers were led to believe.

Liz did receive the letter that Red wrote so we’re led to believe that she did know. However, the viewers were robbed of the aftermath of it all. In Season 9, nothing was said about what she learned. Red and Dembe continued to talk in riddles but with no Liz, that lead turned cold quickly. For those still wondering, I mean have we seen Liz’s dead body? Even at the morgue, all we saw were her feet. We never see a glimpse of her face or anything. Remember, we still think that her mother is dead but we still have yet to receive any final word on that.

Who Walks Away At The End

In between seasons of The Blacklist, a storyline was forgotten. Reddington is sick. Well, at least he was. But with the show ending, will Raymond Reddington be one of the characters to die? He’s been the most hunted and wanted man most of his life and at one point, he did want Liz to kill him right before she was shot. Will he survive before we get to know the answers or will his death provide the answers we need? What about Dembe? Will he make it out alive? Although an FBI agent now, Dembe has done his fair share of bad things as well.

Will Harold Cooper or Donald Ressler pay the cost as well as they continue to hunt the Blacklisters or protect Reddington? As much as we have grown to love these characters, there is a good chance that one or more will not make it alive to the end. But who will it be?
