The Nun Trailer (The Conjuring Spinoff) – Cavemen Radio Show
The Conjuring has grown to one of horror’s more fruitful stories. From multiple sequels to Annabelle, and now comes The Nun there seems to be plenty of meat still left on these horror story bones. There’s even talk of another spinoff with The Crooked Man in development. One of the most important parts of keeping this franchise going is their ability to focus on different elements of these films rather than roll out the same character film after film.
From Google.com
“When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together, they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun.”
With a September release, the film runs right into Halloween territory and will look to capitalize on fans desires that time of year. Unfortunately for them, with a Sept 7th release date, there are at least two to three more movies coming out right before Halloween people might flock to see. Of course one of those films is the latest in the Halloween franchise that will bring back Jamie Lynn Curtis as well as other original cast members back. Then, of course, there is the next installment of The Predator franchise later in September as well.
Having never seen any of The Conjuring films, excitement for The Nun is on the low side. I know there are horror specific streaming services out there that are only scary movies but I wish Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon would up their game when it comes to genre-specific content. I’d like to go back and watch the franchise that is spawning so many spinoffs and sequels. For now, looks like I’ll just have to skip The Nun as well.[CMRickTwitter]
