It’s a crowded leaderboard at The Open with six people at 6-Under tied for the lead. Tiger Woods, who birdied two holes on the front nine and showed flashes of Tiger from the beginning of the century, has struggled a bit on the back-nine. However, he is still lurking two strokes back and the winner won’t be decided until the final player plays No. 18.
After players moved up the leaderboard and made birdie after birdie, Sunday’s been a different kind of day. The wind has havoced player’s shots. Yet, some are finding a groove. McIlroy is playing loose and it’s benefited his scores on the back-nine. He took advantage of the course’s easiest hole at No. 14 and sunk the long eagle putt.

McIlroy is back in the mix and among the crowded leaders. If he can find a birdie or two on the final four holes, then this mMcIlroy’slroy’s title to lose. Yet as we all know, The Open Championship’s leaderboard can quickly change on one stroke. We saw this last year as Jordan Spieth made a late charge to win the legendary event. Likewise, with Tiger Woods and many players close to each other, there is added pressure for every golfer out there.
For now, though, McIlroy should bottle up what he did on 14 and look to replicate that throughout the end of the course. All in all, the final round of The Open Championship will be a memorable one no matter who ends up winning.
