It’s a sad affair on The Ranch. Colt and Abby have a lot of making up to do if they are to stay together. At the conclusion of the most recent season, Abby told Colt she wanted a separation. This isn’t good news for America’s favorite Netflix couple. How can they overcome this?

Colt and Abby were destined to be together. At least, that’s what they both thought Colt’s constant lying and immaturity might have cost him his marriage. Abby just couldn’t put up with it anymore. She’s fully justified in ending things with him.

We’ve seen Colt take great strides during his time on The Ranch. Abby, for the most part, kept him in line. His major slip-up of lying about selling the cattle was a big mistake. Still, despite his blunder, he did it to put Abby at ease. Of course, Colt could have gone on about it better, especially at the Golden Corral dinner.

Abby turned down a teaching job to spend more time with their daughter. She assumed Colt had sold the cattle to Newman’s Hill. Had Abby known of his lying, she might have had second thoughts about that job. Had Colt just been honest and admitted he didn’t sell the cattle, she’d probably understand a lot more than him lying about it.

Honesty is a big part of any relationship. How can Abby stay with him knowing he’s lied to her face numerous times? Colt might have lost her forever over some stupid lie that could have been avoided had he just told the truth. Abby would have accepted it. She’s committed to him, they’d get through anything together.

There have been many instances of Colt messing up. He can be a bit reckless, especially when it comes to his relationships. Abby might never come back from this. It’s sad that Colt has gotten her to resent him. There’s still hope, but it’s a very small glimmer.

Here we are at the crossroads of Abby and Colt. A lot of fans are probably torn on what the right direction of the couple is. Most probably want Colt and Abby to stay together, but, that’s just not looking good right now. The Ranch certainly has a way of getting us right where it hurts.
