There Needs To Be A More Strict Mr. Iglesias In Season 2 Of The Netflix Comedy
How does the dynamic at Woodrow Wilson High change? With Mr. Iglesias set to take on a bigger role with his students, does he need to become more strict and stern? While his students won the Academic Decathlon, beating the honors class, the fun loving teacher just has too much fun.
We all have wanted teachers like Mr. (Gabe) Iglesias. All of his students love him. Really he can’t do any wrong in their eyes. However, it’s time the teacher buckles down. While a good mentor and friend, Mr. Igleisas needs to be more of a teacher. And that’s probably what we are going to get more of in season 2.
Don’t think for a minute that Iglesias will change his tune on being a students friend. There just needs to be a bit more of a line drawn when it comes to the relationships he develops with his students. Principal Madison loves the dynamic he brings, however, there comes a point where Iglesias should act like a teacher.
To be more of an authoritative figure is not going to be easy for Mr. Iglesias. He tried to put his foot down with Rakeem so he could play in the football game, although still let him slide. There was also the lackadaisical grading on the classes final oral presentations, which caused Assistant Principal, Carlos to seek out Abby to grade the class. Point is, there needs to be more accountability from Gabe.
He’s more than able to show a more strict personality. Again, that’s what we need to expect for season 2. Gabe will give in to the Assistant Principal’s demands, causing his students to not like him near as much. More than likely, he’ll struggle with this. Knowing Mr. Igleisas, who thrives on fun, the change won’t last long.
While the results show how well Mr. Iglesias teaches, his approach can be a bit rough. He does care about his students (evident by his desire to teach while on strike), although, some favoritism towards the kids can be shown. There needs to be a balance of strict and fun. Hopefully, Gabe finds that in season 2.
