Tomi Lahren temporarily suspended from the Blaze after making comments on the View
We have seen it happen before. People in the media say something on another network. Next, they end up running into problems with their own company. Conservative talk show host Tomi Lahren has had her show temporarily suspended. This came after she made abortion comments on another network.
While she was making an appearance on ABC’s The View, Lahren basically said, “Stay out of my guns, and you can stay out of my body as well.” She was referring to the fact that she thinks that pro-life politics are an example of governmental overreach. Her entire quote was, “I’m someone that is for limited government, so I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government, but I think that the government should decide what women do with their bodies.”
Glen Beck, the owner of the Blaze basically suspended Tomi Lahren for flip-flopping on her abortion stance. This comment caused a ton of heat with her co-workers at the Blaze. Consequently, the Blaze suspended her show. I feel suspending her show was going a bit far. She didn’t do it on their network. However, I see where Glen Beck is coming from. He doesn’t want someone on his network to start flip-flopping on their stances. Once you start flip-flopping on your stances, you tend to lose credibility. Also, people tend to not want to take what you say seriously.
My only issue with this is this is not the first time that someone got suspended or getting fired from their job because of something they said. An example of this happened last year when Anthony Cumia was fired from SiriusXM after he went on a tirade on Twitter. I figure that she will be back doing her show next week and I am expecting her to have a lot to say about this incident.
