Top 10 Supporting Characters Of The Simpsons
The Simpsons have been going for more than 30 years. One of the classic cartoons of all time, there are a lot of different characters the show has introduced us to. Everyone knows Homer, Bart, Lisa, Maggie, and Marge, they are iconic. However, who are the best Simpsons characters outside of the main five?
10. Comic Book Guy-
The biggest nerd in Springfield. Comic Book Guy is an awkward individual. He’s very open about his love for comics and superheroes. Perhaps, a lot of Simpsons fans know someone like CBG.
9. Krusty the Clown-
Perhaps the most vulgar clown of all-time, Krusty is an icon. He’s your typical celebrity. What Krusty is best known for is his Krusty Burger chain. How many clowns can you say have their own fast food restaurant?
8. Principal Skinner-
It’s hard to hate Skinner. He’s always the brunt of Bart’s pranks, his mother is overbearing, and he’s always looking for approval. A lot of principal’s get a bad rep, and Skinner is no exception. He’s just a bit misunderstood.
7. Sideshow Bob-
Sideshow Bob is just too evil to leave off the list. He’s out to get Bart. While he never succeeds in capturing the boy Simpson, Bob will never give up. In addition, he wins the award for best hair on the show.
6. Chief Wiggum-
Here’s a police officer that can rally the troops. Wiggum is one of the most dedicated men to his job, he’s just not any good at it. More than likely he’ll have a donut than a pair of handcuffs.
5. Nelson-
Some misunderstand Nelson. While a bully, he’s a really good guy at heart. A lot of the later shows focus on his relationship with his mother and father. You do start to feel for him a bit. Of course, nothing is funnier than his signature, “haha.”
4. Milhouse-
One of the nerdiest nerds you’ll ever find outside of comic book guy. Milhouse is a great best friend to Bart. He’s also a real romantic. Some of his best work comes from his interaction with Lisa.
3. Flanders Family-
Here’s a three for one selection. The Flanders family (Rod, Todd, Ned) are so good they need to be linked together. Rod and Todd, are literal clones of their father. While Ned, a religious man, is just the nicest guy you’ll ever meet.
2. Moe-
It’s everyone’s favorite bartender, Moe. He might be lonely, but dedication to the job is his specialty. There usually isn’t ever a time Moe is away from the bar. For people like Homer, Moe is the one who many can talk to and rely on.
1. Ralph Wiggum-
How can you go wrong with Ralph? Like his dad, he can be somewhat clueless. However, Ralph Wiggum is his own kind of special. He’s just so loveable and out there, you really can’t afford to not like him.
There you have it, the top-10 secondary characters of The Simpson’s. On a show that has so many memorable faces, it’s hard to pick just 10. You’ve still got the Simpson family (who I’ve left out purposely), Grandpa Abe, Patti and Selma, Smithers, Mr. Burns, Apu, and Barney, all as central supporting characters that weren’t mentioned.
This list isn’t the end all be all, so you’re entitled to feel a different way. These are my choices for the best-supporting characters on The Simpsons.
