UFC: George St-Pierre deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame
The UFC held its first live card last night. The card was headlined by Justin Gaethje taking on Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight championship. This card was originally supposed to take place in Brooklyn, New York. However, due to the COVID-19 situation, the card was postponed. Overall, the card was stacked and very entertaining. While we saw a lot of great fights, there was news to whom is going into the UFC Hall of Fame this year.
According to CBS Sports, former two-division champion George St- Pierre will be heading to the UFC Hall of Fame. When you think of some of the bigger names in the UFC world, guys like Anderson Silva, Daniel Cormier, Connor McGregor, and George St-Pierre are some of the names that come to mind. In his seventeen-year career, he would end up going 26-2. He made his debut at UFC 46 when he defeated Karo Parisyan.

While many fighters end up waiting years to get a title opportunity, George St-Pierre got his first one following his 2nd UFC win. At UFC 50, the welterweight championship was vacated. Despite putting up a great effort, he was able to defeat the veteran Matt Hughes. Matt ended up tapping him out with an armbar with ten seconds left in round one.
George was able to rebound from this loss and would string together a few wins. However, as far as him going into the UFC Hall of Fame, he deserves is 100%. When you look at his work inside the octagon, he was flawless. He was someone who would basically do whatever they asked him to do. He was a class act outside the octagon. However, the biggest thing that he had was he was able to bring in the casual fan. You don’t have to be the biggest UFC fan, but there’s a very good chance you know who George St-Pierre is.
If I were doing a UFC Mount Rushmore, he would be up there.
