Candyman Movie

While it seems like 2020 is a wash due to coronavirus, there’s still just over 5 months left. Movie theaters have shut down and summer releases keep being pushed back to rescheduled dates. While there’s a long list of good movies coming out, hopefully, later this year, here are some of our most anticipated films remaining in 2020 in no particular order.

Bill and Ted Face the Music

Is it wrong that we can’t wait for a cheesy ‘80s comedy to get a sequel? With how much crap we’ve put up with this year, how great would a throwback to our youth remind us there’s still fun out there? Bill and Ted Face the Music might not be the same without George Carlin, but that doesn’t mean we’re not on board for this excellent adventure.

A Quiet Place II

Everyone loves Jim from The Office, right? Of course, they do. That’s why everyone got together and saw A Quiet Place, right? No? Okay maybe not, but John Krasinski did a lot of the heavy lifting for this production. Between working on the screenplay, producing, directing, and starring in this seemed to be his pet project.

And a good thing too as A Quiet Place turned out to be a phenomenal movie. With so few lines in the original movie, the intensity and scale of fear were able to pull audiences in. With how the first ended, we can’t wait to see what happens next.

Wonder Woman 1984

It would be wise to say that the Patty Jenkins lead Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot was the turning point for the DCEU. After stumbling out of the gate, DC and their movie universe seemed to hit one out of the park as it mostly received good reviews. Wonder Woman was the first portrayal of the comic books that felt like it was lifted from the pages in the reader’s hands. Sequels don’t always live up to the hype but this one feels like a winning combination for everyone involved.

Candyman

With the horror genre getting a revive it was only a matter of time before some old cult classics got their day in the spotlight. Candyman wasn’t a huge hit of a franchise but lent its creativity to some of the more gore-filled scenes in horror. With a new take on the old favorite, a screenplay and produced by Jordan Peele, and a talented cast attached, hopefully, this spawns a new chapter in the franchise.`

2020 might still have a couple of good movies up its sleeve to save us from the boredom of lockdown. Hopefully, soon enough we’ll all be back at theaters making up for the lost time.
