Who will have a better 2017, Marvel or DC?
The last few years at the Box Office has been dominated by superheroes. While there are two universes taking hold of the big screen, it’s easy to say that Marvel has put quite a distance between them and DC Comics. Last year we witnessed the release of Captain America: Civil War, Batman vs Superman and Doctor Strange just to name a few. But what 2017 has in store may very well send fans of Marvel and DC to the psych ward.
The takeover will begin with Logan/Wolverine (March 3), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (May 5), Wonder Woman (June 2), Spider-Man: Homecoming (July 7) then finish up the year with Thor: Ragnarok (November 3) and finally Justice League (November 17).
That’s six comic movies set to hit in 2017. The anticipation is strong for all but Marvel and DC will throw out two of their best this year in the new Spider-Man and DC with Justice League. Marvel has had their way but DC should make up a little ground with Wonder Woman and Justice League. But Marvel will not be one to sit off to the side as fans may get a chance to get their last glimpse of Hugh Jackman as Logan and the final Thor movie as well.
But, this is where it will get interesting for both universes. The big screen is not the only place where you can catch your favorite heroes. Television is still home to Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Super Girl, Flash, and a massive list from Marvel that will include, Agents of Shield, Legion, The Punisher, Iron Fist, The Defenders and the Inhumans. While fans will have to wait a month in between comic movies, they can head over to a local station or Netflix and catch up on the action.
2017 looks to be a great year for us geeks.
