Wicked Twister Leaving? What Could Cedar Point Be Planning?
It’s time for Cedar Point to grow. They need to look for a new innovative and record-breaking attraction(s). It seems that Wicked Twister is on its way out. The question is, what’s going to take its place?
Here are just some of the possibilities.
1. Dark Ride
I don’t want just any dark ride. Cedar Fair owns the Peanuts license. Enough of Boo Blasters, we want a Peanuts dark ride at a Cedar Fair park. Cedar Point is perfect for this. The area Wicked Twister sits on is next to Planet Snoopy. They’d need to move a few other rides and develop the empty space of land from the amphitheater, however, this would work. Theme the main facade and entrance to Snoopy’s Doghouse or maybe tie-in to Snoppy in Space. Either way, this needs to be done. Cedar Point needs a dark ride to really make it the best park in the chain.

2. Gerstlauer
The plans have been seen for a record-breaking coaster from Gerstlauer. Let’s be real here, folks. We know it’s for Cedar Point. The record looping coaster would probably be like the Smiler at Alton Towers, and that’s perfect for Cedar Point. This seems too obvious, and it probably is. However, what if this is indeed going in the park, but not on the WT site? The old dorms behind Valravn might house this coaster. We know it’s coming, but where?
3. Boardwalk Woodie/Pier
This is a hot rumor among Cedar Point fans. The park needs another wooden coaster. And the belief is the park wants to expand beyond the current gates and create a pier along their beach. Both of these can be accomplished with the Wicked Twister removal. We could just be getting one of these, but Cedar Point won’t build a pier and not put a coaster there as well. And, it’s possible the Gerstlauer is the coaster for the pier and the Wooden coaster goes at the old dorm site. I’m betting the woodie goes on the pier because that’s going to really make a nice clean impression.
4. Expanded Festival Area
This is my last choice and probably the most unlikey. Cedar Point already does concerts and events in this area at night. The main Frontier Festival is done in Frontier Town. It’s possible Cedar Point really makes this a Festival area. Again, this kind of goes hand in hand with the pier idea, however, it becomes more of a boardwalk-like atmosphere with food stands and other amenities. I’d reckon to say this isn’t what Cedar Point has in store when they are using this addition to be a part of their 150th.
5. All of the above
It’s possible Cedar Point pulls the unthinkable and does all of these. Unlikely, yet possible.
