Will We Have Two Green Arrow’s In Crisis on Infinite Earths Crossover?
With the news that Arrow will end its run this season, we had to expect that CW would go out with a bang. While every crossover has been a huge hit for the Network, fans are salivating over how huge Crisis on Infinite Earth could be. One important factor we do know is that Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow does die. But it doesn’t end there.
The CW is pulling out all the stops with the addition of two Smallville characters. Tom Welling and Erica Durance will reprise their iconic roles as Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Smallville and DC fans have waited for this moment close to a decade. And while Superman has appeared in recent episodes on the Network, Welling’s character is the most beloved. But the bigger question is–will they have two Green Arrows?
In a bit of sad news, Michael Rosenbaum, who played the infamous Lex Luther will not make an appearance. But does that mean that Justin Hartley who played Green Arrow in the Smallville series will make his appearance? As one of the main characters in Smallville, it would be great to see the two Oliver Queen’s fight alongside one another.
According to Nicholas Raymond of Screen Rant, adding another Green Arrow could have its advantages if the storyline is done right.
Oliver’s importance to Smallville is a good enough reason for him to be in the event, but there is at least one obstacle standing in the way: last year’s crossover. Smallville‘s Green Arrow appeared to be among the casualties of “Elseworlds” in one brief shot. However, though this was a clear Smallville Easter egg, this isn’t something that can’t be walked back, especially if “Crisis” has a good story to tell with Hartley’s character.
With Arrow ending its run and the success of the other crossovers, why not pull out all the stops? Tt’s been reported that we will get three Superman’s during the five-part arc, so why not have Arrow end with two themselves? Just a thought.
