Wonder Woman Lasso Of Truth At Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Might Be The World’s Best Pendulum Ride

Most pendulum rides are exactly the same experience. That was my thought as I entered the queue line for Wonder Woman Lasso Of Truth at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. After one ride I wasn’t convinced it was any better than my previous experiences on these attractions. However, a second ride convinced me otherwise.
I’ll admit when I’m wrong about an attraction. I was looking forward to Wonder Woman, but didn’t think it could be any better than MaxAir at Cedar Point. As unpopular of opinion as this might be, it was. I was shocked myself after having two trips on Lasso Of Truth. Although, this pendulum ride is indeed the best I’ve ever done.
The ride cycle is extremely long. You’re going for a good 4.5 minutes. As you’re on the attraction, it feels like an eternity. In no way am I complaining. It’s actually quite nice. Your typical queue for this on a busy day is about 30 minutes. It’s nice to get on a lengthy attraction after standing in line watching the lengthy cycle, hyping yourself up for the ride of your life.
One thing I’ve noticed on Lasso Of Truth, a lot of people get sick. There have been at least 3 instances of this happening. These were only times that I’ve witnessed. I can’t imagine how of these occurrences there are on a given day. I’d assume this is due to the long cycle Lasso Of Truth.
Wonder Woman swings riders at speeds of 70 mph. This ties it with MaxAir at Cedar Point. In addition, Lasso Of Truth takes you 147 feet in the air. That makes it 7 feet taller than its Cedar Point counterpart. However, it’s still a full 23 feet less than Crazanity at sister park, Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Ride statistics aside, Lasso Of Truth has wonderful entrance plaza. There are giant pillars that have the American flag design on them. A giant Wonder Woman statue stands to the side of the entrance. On the ground is a painted Wonder Woman logo. The left side of the walkway to the ride features pictures of Wonder Woman in action.
Most will hesitate to call Wonder Woman Lasso Of Truth a better pendulum attraction than MaxAir or Delirium (Kings Island). A lot of that has to do with those individuals being fanboys of Cedar Fair. As someone who enjoys both Cedar Fair and Six Flags, Wonder Woman Lasso Of Truth is indeed better. In fact, it’s not even close.
