WrestleMania 36: Rhea Ripley Should Retain the NXT Woman’s title
At the Royal Rumble, Charlotte Flair won the 3rd women’s Royal Rumble as she eliminated Shayna Bazler. By winning the Royal Rumble, she had the option as to what champion she wanted to face. She could face the Raw Woman’s Champion (Becky Lynch), Smackdown Woman’s Champion (Bayley), or NXT Woman’s Champion (Rhea Ripley).
It seemed that both the Smackdown and Raw women champions have plans for WrestleMania. However, we have never seen an NXT title be defended on a “main roster” pay-per-view. We wouldn’t get the answer for a number of weeks as Ripley had a big match at NXT Takeover Portland.
At the latest Takeover, she was putting the title on the line against Bianca Belair. These two would end up getting into the ring and put on a great match. While Ripley did win the match, Belair showed why she is one of the people that will be involved in the woman’s main event scene of NXT.

As Ripley was celebrating the win, she would get blindsided by the 2020 Woman’s Royal Rumble winner, Charlotte Flair. After she would attack Ripley, she took the microphone to announce that she will be seeing Ripley at WrestleMania 36 in Tampa Bay.
When this match was announced on Raw, there were many fans that began to think Charlotte could defeat Rhea Ripley. While that may happen, I don’t see it happening. Charlotte Flair is a 10-time champion. She’s won every woman’s single title between Raw, Smackdown, and NXT. I have a gut feeling that this match was done as a way to make both NXT and Rhea Ripley much bigger.
Charlotte is walking into this match with nothing to lose. She is one of the top woman stars within the WWE. Ripley is someone who could become a household name when she defeats Flair at WrestleMania.
