WrestleMania: ESPN To Air WrestleMania 30, 32, and 35
As many of you know, the world seems to be on a stoppage. This is due to ongoing COVID-19. One of the areas that seem to be one of the more affected ones in the world of sports. In the weeks since COVID-19 began to spread in America, we have seen all the four major sports suspending or postponing their seasons. Other events like the Masters and the Kentucky Derby are all being pushed back to the fall. With there being no sports around, ESPN has been showing past games.
One of the only things to not be stopped is the professional wrestling world. We have seen companies like AEW and WWE still have their shows with no crowds. It was reported today that ESPN will be airing three WrestleMania events on TV. According to the announcement, ESPN will air WrestleMania 30, 32, and 35. WrestleMania 35 was historic because we saw the first main event where the women were in it. WrestleMania 30 was where we would see the rise of Daniel Bryan as he went on to defeat Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista. WrestleMania 32 was where we would see Roman Reigns win his singles title. I don’t understand how WrestleMania 32 would be a good one to show.

Don’t get me wrong, WrestleMania 30 and 35 were both historic events. WrestleMania 32 was one of the worst ones they have done. If you wanted to show one that was historic, you could air WrestleMania 1,3, 10, or 17 are just some that come to mind. These had more significance than WrestleMania 32. However, I think there is a bigger reason why ESPN is doing this.
While they don’t have any sports with everything going on, there’s a bigger reason. There has been talk of ESPN buying the rights to stream the WWE pay-per-views. This could be a test run to see if there would be people interested in it.
