WrestleMania: Why the Fiend’s opponent needs to be John Cena
As of this writing, we are a few months away from WrestleMania 36. It’s usually around this time that we find out what WWE’s direction is for their biggest event of the year. One of the wrestlers that fans are curious to see who he faces at the big show is the Fiend (Bray Wyatt). Currently, The Fiend is in his first reign as the Universal champion. He defeated Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel to capture the belt. Unless WWE has different plans and Wyatt loses the belt before Mania, I find it very likely he is the champion heading into Tampa Bay.
There has been a ton of speculation as to who will be facing the Universal champion at WrestleMania. The one who I would like to see face the Fiend is someone from his past. If I were booking the match, I would have the Fiend take on John Cena. Yes, I would have it be for the Universal title. One thing Bully Ray always says is a good program is one where there is a story put in. The story with Cena and the Fiend is there. If you recall, John Cena defeated Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 30. The story that you present is interesting and one that will grab people’s attention.
The story I would have them tell is that Bray Wyatt started to go nuts after he lost to Cena at WrestleMania. I would Wyatt go after Cena’s personal stuff like we have seen him do with his past opponents. If we are to get these guys, you should have Wyatt go over on Cena. Cena is not someone who needs the belt. This would elevate The Fiend tp a top star. One thing that seems to not be happening anymore is that WWE doesn’t make stars. What better way to make a star with the Fiend than have him go over on one of the top guys in the industry.
