WWE: Brand Split is hurting RAW
The WWE Brand Split happened back in July and has been with us for the last 6 months. There are some who are saying that the Brand Split has done well as it has given wrestlers more TV time that may or may not have had it before. However, after watching RAW this past Monday it got me thinking that while Raw is on for three hours, the brand split has been a disadvantage to the Raw main event. For the last few months, it seems that the main event picture for RAW has been mostly Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, and Seth Rollins. There have been a few sprinkles of others like Sasha Banks and Charlotte.

I am aware that Finn Balor is currently injured, but that should not have any bearing on it. There are several wrestlers who are currently in the mid-carder area on RAW who should be in the main-event scene. If you look on the other side with Smackdown, the main event scene is John Cena, AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, and so on. Where Smackdown Live is better than RAW is that they are like RAW was from the late 1990s when they were able to have at least 8-10 wrestlers put in the main event.
However, going back to the current RAW main-event picture, they need to do something different if they want to not see a continuing slide in ratings. One idea is to do what Smackdown does and give others a push. Also, you don’t need to have on the same four wrestlers to both open and close the show with as that ends up becoming repetitive and somewhat dull.
As a wrestling fan, I truly have high hopes that WWE can turn it around with the main event of RAW and not have the flagship show look like garbage.
