WWE: The build for the inevtiable match between Gargano and Ciampa has been great

The latest episode of NXT had a ton of emotion regarding the main event between Gargano and Almas. Heading into their match, the stipulation was that Johnny Gargano had to leave NXT if he lost. He would end up losing, but it wasn’t clean at all. Almas should give the assist to Gargano’s former partner, Tommaso Ciampa. He recently returned to NXT tv after being on the shelf for some time recovering from a leg injury. He would end up returning by attacking Gargano at Takeover Philadelphia.

It is clear that the two former best friends will fight at New Orleans. I know the build is still early, but it has been great so far, The last image we saw was Ciampa mocking a goodbye to Gargano after he left the ring. In essence, this program is putting a ton of the heat on Ciampa and is making Gargano more and more a baby face. Since Takeover New Orleans is still a few weeks away, the WWE is in prime position to book a great feud. For starters, I wouldn’t let them touch at all until Takeover. By doing this you are making their match more special. In addition, Ciampa is getting a ton of heat from the NXT crowd for what he did to his former friend. I am curious to see what the promos are like for Ciampa and how much they boo him.

This feud wouldn’t be the first time that the WWE went the route of best friends, better enemies way. When Owens and Zayn feuded a few years back in both NXT and on the main roster, that was the approach by the WWE. Another one is Triple H and Shawn Michaels who feuded after Michaels returned in 2002. When those two clashed, it was must-see TV. I hope the WWE doesn’t screw it up and I don’t see them doing that cause it is NXT.
