WWE: EC3 should go for the North American title

While I applaud the WWE on the booking in the Johnny Gargano/Tommaso Ciampa feud, they are also doing well in another superstars booking. It seems that the WWE is really making EC3 a special attraction. Since he made his debut at Takeover Philadelphia, he has had only two matches in NXT. The ladder match at Takeover New Orleans and a match with Raul Mendoza on NXT TV. Since the WWE doesn’t have anything for him, it’s better to keep him off of TV. It’s good to have him in little matches here and there, but nothing major. However, I don’t see it lasting long that he won’t be a weekly feature on NXT TV.

While I’m going to be pointing out the obvious here, but I see the WWE pushing him for either the North American title or the NXT title. However, I don’t see him going for the NXT title right away. After NXT Takeover Chicago, I have felt that Ricochet should be the one to challenge for the NXT title heading into Takeover Brooklyn. I could see EC3 getting his shot at the Takeover before Survivor Series or Royal Rumble. However, both of those shows are quite far in the future. It doesn’t seem there having Adam Cole get into an angle yet for the North American title as of this writing. It would make perfect sense for EC3 to be the first one to try to take the title.

This would make sense because the promos would simply write themselves. Both EC3 and Adam Cole are great mic workers and can tell a good story in great promos. One of the positive things EC3 had while in TNA was his mic work. You can the same thing about Adam Cole while he was in ROH. They are also both good in-ring workers, so the combo of the two would make this angle great.
