Many WWE fans look forward to the Royal Rumble. The annual show in 2020 will be taking place at Minute Maid Park in Houston. Texas. Fans look forward to this event because it’s the start of the road to WrestleMania. In addition, it’s the one night where you could see a wrestler who hasn’t appeared in a number of years. With the rise of NXT, the Royal Rumble has been used as a way to debut someone. While we are still a couple of weeks away from the event, the buzz for the event is starting to pick up steam. One of them happen to be what matches will be taking place. One of the downfalls is many superstars tend to work double duty on the Royal Rumble.

While there are many rumors going around, there seems to be three possible matches that could become reality soon. It seems we could be seeing Braun Strowman take on Nakamura for the IC belt. In addition, The Fiend is rumored to take on Daniel Bryan for the Universal title. Also, there is now a rumor floating around that we could be seeing a Crown Jewel rematch as Brock Lesnar would be taking on Cain Velasquez. Finally, it seems the WWE is putting Asuka and Becky Lynch on a collision course for the Royal Rumble. Strowman and Nakamura to me seems interesting for one thing.

The WWE doesn’t seem to know how they want to book him properly. Since the brand split happened in 2016, Strowman has had eight WWE Universal title matches. Maybe working with someone like Nakamura for the IC Belt could be what Strowman needs to get his career back in order. The Fiend and Bryan are going to tell a great story. The story they are telling with them is when The Fiend (Bray Wyatt) had the Wyatt Family. If you recall Daniel Bryan joined them for two weeks to then turn on them. They ended up having one match at the 2014 Royal Rumble and didn’t have anything afterwards. The one match being rumored that I have no interest in is the Cain Velasquez/Brock Lesnar match.

The two minute match that they had at Crown Jewel did nothing for me. The Asuka/Becky Lynch story is an interesting one as well for one reason. They are going back to last year’s Rumble and telling the story how Lynch has beaten everyone in the women’s division, except forĀ  Asuka.

This years Royal Rumble looks interesting and if done right, could be one of the better ones done in a long time.
