WWE Money in the Bank: It’s a bad idea to have Ronda Rousey get a title shot so fast

It was announced on Monday afternoon that WWE Raw Woman’s Champion Nia Jax will defend her title against Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank next month. This would end up being announced at the NBC Universal Upfronts in New York City, New York. Rousey made a point in her response to Nia Jax when she said, “There are other women who deserve the opportunity.” Personally, I think it will be a decent match, however, my problem lies in how this came about.

Nia Jax defended the title with a win at Backlash. She has held the belt since defeating Alexa Bliss at WrestleMania 34. There have been four Raw shows since WrestleMania and there hasn’t been any sign that the WWE was going in that direction. It seemed that this move to have these two fight for the belt seemed to come out of nowhere. You must be an idiot not to realize that the WWE is more than likely putting the belt on Rousey. It seems that Nia Jax was nothing more than a transitional champion. After watching that challenge on RAW, I felt that Nia Jax was almost coming off heelish in her mannerisms and her body language.

I also think its way too early to put the belt on Ronda Rousey. Since she made her debut at the Royal Rumble, she has had the one match at WrestleMania 34. We haven’t seen what she could do in a singles bout. Putting the title on her within six months of arriving in the WWE is foolish and will hurt the title. In all honesty, I figured Ember Moon, Ruby Riot, or someone else would have had a shot at the belt. I would have had Rousey get her first shot either at SummerSlam or not until the Royal Rumble in 2019. That way you let her get some wins under her belt.
