When it comes to WWE, WrestleMania is the companies biggest show. When it comes to WrestleMania, WWE superstars want to make a career at the event. We have seen several of them accomplish this over the years. You had guys like Undertaker, The Rock, Mick Foley, and others who have made a career at the big show. However, when it comes to who should have the phrase “Mr. WrestleMania,” there are two names that come to mind and for two totally different reasons. The two wrestlers are Shawn Michaels and Triple H.

Let us look at Shawn Michaels first. Over the last 36 WrestleManias, Shawn Michaels has had several moments. One of the first ones that come to mind is his ladder match with Razor Ramon at WrestleMania X. While the WWF had several ladder matches before this one, Michaels and Ramon were able to give the ladder match some credibility. It also made having a ladder match at WrestleMania a staple. Another one is when he won the title against Bret Hart at WrestleMania 12. For most of the late 1990s, Shawn and Bret Hart had several legendary matches.

One of the first encounters was at WrestleMania 12. After Michaels failed against Diesel at Wrestlemania XI, he would get another shot. Hart and Michaels would have the first-ever 60-minute iron man match and needed to go into overtime. One that happened recently was when Shawn Michaels took on Ric Flair at WrestleMania XXIV. The stipulation was if Shawn won, then Ric Flair was going to retire. The iconic moment was when Shawn muttered under his breath, “I’m sorry, I love you….” and then superkicked Flair. When it came to Shawn Michaels and WrestleMania, there were a lot of moments that have lived on in the history of WWF/WWE.

While Michaels has had the moments, Triple H has also had them as well. However, it was for the opposite reason. Triple H does own the record for most losses, but he put his opponent over. Look at what he did with Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 30. Those two would open the show and the stipulation was Bryan had to win to get into the main event. Triple H put him over. Look at what he did with Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 34, he put her over.

It seems that in many of Triple H’s losses, he puts over his opponent and elevates them.

So when it’s all set and done, Triple H and Shawn Michaels are both Mr. WrestleMania.
