WWE Rumors: WWE officials are still deciding on the main event of WrestleMania

While we are now officially one month away from WrestleMania 33 happening in Orlando, Florida; WWE officials are not sure as to whether the WWE Universal belt or the WWE championship should headline the event. However, what makes it tougher for WWE officials is that they aren’t really sure who will be in the matches for the two belts.

As it was shown on the latest episode of Smackdown, the WWE championship will be between Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton, and AJ Styles as he defeated Luke Harper to become the number one contender. But there are some people within the WWE universe that are leery that Styles will still be in that match as it has been rumored that he is set to fight Shane McMahon at WrestleMania. The problem that WWE is going to face if they are still going in that direction is how do you take Styles out of the main event of WrestleMania after he beat Luke Harper twice.

On the other hand, you have the WWE Universal Title that may close out the show, the only problem is who will be the Universal champion coming out of WWE Fastlane. There have been a ton of rumors going around that WWE wanted to have Goldberg win the title over Kevin Owens and defend it against Brock Lesnar. I wrote about this a few weeks back and I do not want WWE to give him the belt. If they do that, it is going to be a slap in the face to the Raw roster. If Owens retains the belt, there has been speculation that he would defend it against his former best friend Chris Jericho.

In regards to which one I would like to see defended in the WrestleMania main event spot and a lot of my decision is a precedent as to what happens at WWE Fastlane. If they go the route of having Owens retain, then I would want Owens and Jericho to get that spot. However, if they let Goldberg win the belt then I want the WWE Championship to be the main event. Either way, WWE has holes regarding both belts and since there is only a month left before WrestleMania, they need to decide on something soon to allow it to develop well on TV.

They can not afford to have another WrestleMania be bad as they are coming off of WrestleMania 32, which was pretty bad.
