WWE: Roman Reigns should not win the Royal Rumble

According to the popular betting site Oddschecker, Roman Reigns is now the favorite to win the 2018 Royal Rumble. This would not be the first time that he won the Rumble in Philadelphia as he won it back in 2015. If this happens to be the case, then the WWE are fools. The top three favorites are Roman Reigns (3/1), Shinsuke Nakamura (7/2), and John Cena (8/1). The city of Philadelphia was not warm to the idea when he won it in 2015. It is pretty certain that he will be facing Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 already for the Universal title.

Here at WBLZ, we have been saying that it should be Nakamura who wins it. He would be the ideal guy to win it. You would then set up a rematch of Wrestle Kingdom 9. Their match at Wrestle Kingdom is still talked about as one of the best matches of all time. Nevertheless, having Reigns win won’t do well for anyone. We saw the city of Philadelphia nearly burn to the ground after the Eagles clinched a spot in the Super Bowl. It sickens me as a fan of wrestling to see the young talent be overlooked for older talents and guys like Roman Reigns. Hence, there are a few interesting names on this list as to the favorite being.

You have guys like Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens, and Finn Balor. However, there is one name on this list does interest me, AJ Styles. If he is on this list, does this mean that he will drop the belt beforehand? I find it unlikely to happen as his odds are 22-1. In fact, WWE needs to wake up and smell the fact that they have a ton of talent on their roster. They need to stop having the same guys on the high card. RAW has the Elimination Chamber coming up right after the Rumble. So, you can use the chamber as a way to give Reigns the Number One Contender Spot and it would make sense.

The Royal Rumble is this Sunday on the WWE Network.
