WWE Rumors: Andre the Giant Battle Royal to get a big role at WrestleMania 34
Since WrestleMania 30, the Andre the Giant Battle Royal has become a staple of the WrestleMania program. Hulk Hogan introduced the event at WrestleMania 30. It is seen as was a way to celebrate the WWE Hall of Famer, Andre the Giant. However, since the inaugural one, the WWE has done nothing with the winner. WrestleMania 30 saw Cesaro, WrestleMania 31 saw Big Show, WrestleMania 32 saw Baron Corbin, and last year we saw Mojo Rawley win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. The WWE did nothing major with any of the winners. Baron Corbin was probably the closest one as he had a program with Dean Ambrose over the IC title at WrestleMania 33 pre-show.
However, it seems that the WWE wants the one at WrestleMania 34 to come off a bit different. According to the rumor mills and due to the documentary coming out on Andre around WrestleMania, they want this one to be a big deal. Here are two ways that I would like to see the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal not be taken as a joke.
For starters, you need to choose the right guy to win. Giving the win to Curt Hawkins, Titus O’Neal, or someone like that would not make sense. These wouldn’t make sense because they aren’t getting a push. The other thing I would do is make the winner be the #1 contender for the WWE title, the Universal title, The IC title, or the US Title. I know you have the Money in the Bank briefcase, but adding this would make it tougher for the champion.
Some guys who I could see the WWE giving the win to – Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, or Elias. Elias is the odd man out. However, the WWE is behind him. They have already had him beat some of the top guys on the RAW brand. Why not push him to the top.
