Finn Balor has been a part of the main roster since Summerslam 2016. On that night, he would end up defeating Seth Rollins to become the inaugural Universal champion. However, he would end up relinquishing the belt after holding it for 24 hours. This had to happen because he suffered a major injury that kept him out of action for sometime.

He would end up returning to the ring on the Raw after WrestleMania 33. When he would return, people figured that he’d get put into the title picture of Raw. However, he would begin his run of mediocrity. He would feud with guys like Elias, Bray Wyatt, and others on the lower end of the card. Baron Corbin would become acting General Manager and all of sudden Finn Balor was starting a winning streak.

At TLC, he would go on to defeat Drew McIntyre. After that win, there was a rumor on the internet regarding Finn Balor that would make things interesting. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Finn Balor is set to get a push in 2019. While I am all in favor of this push, you could make the argument that it is too little too late.

While Finn Balor was in Japan, he was one of the companies top stars. When he got to NXT, he was treated and booked like a top star. I thought it would continue for him on the main roster. I don’t grasp why Finn Balor has basically been a high mid-card wrestler. If this push is true then I would like for him to get a title opportunity. I know Strowman is set to fight Lesnar at the Royal Rumble, but if he doesn’t win then the WWE needs to stop giving him shots.

In addition, the WWE is now in the mindset of having fresh matches, fresh opponents and stuff like that. Having Finn Balor fight Lesnar or whoever has the belt in 2019 would be a fresh start.

This is only a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt.
