WWE Rumors: Why Shinsuke Nakamura debuted on Smackdown over Raw

Last week we had many debuts on the RAW and Smackdown after Wrestlemania. Some of the debuts included the Revival, Tye Dillinger, and Shinsuke Nakamura. The Revival went to join the loaded RAW Tag team division and Dillinger and Nakamura debuted on Smackdown.

However, now several sites are reporting why Nakamura went to Smackdown and not RAW. According to sources, the WWE is going to be pushing Nakamura as the top babyface of Smackdown to replace John Cena. These plans could change if Nakamura is brought on to RAW during the superstar shakeup, however, I don’t see that happening. I don’t see that happening because there Smackdown is very thin when it comes to top babyfaces. With John Cena gone for a few months, WWE needs someone to fill his spot.

I feel this is the right move for Nakamura to be the top babyface of Smackdown for several reasons. For starters, he is very over with the WWE crowd. Throughout his run in NXT, Nakamura was pushed as the top babyface in his feuds with Samoa Joe and Finn Balor. Another reason why Nakamura fits better on Smackdown than RAW is there are many opportunities for big feuds to happen. You can feud him with the Miz, AJ Styles, or Baron Corbin to name a few. These names all could change after the superstar shakeup on RAW.

However, the only slight issue I see happening with Nakamura is his limited English. It could limit his promo work, however that was not an issue with him in NXT. Due to his limit English, I feel that if the Miz and Nakamura stay on Smackdown then the Miz should be his first feud.

In regards to John Cena, he has a few movies that he is filming over the next few months. I personally don’t expect to see him back on WWE programing until we get close to Summerslam.

This is a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt
