WWE Rumors: Top Feuds for Smackdown in 2017
It is scary to think that 2016 is almost over, but in less than five weeks we will be starting 2017. However, if you’re the WWE, then you already having plans as you start getting closer to WrestleMania.
Well, it seems there are several sites that are now reporting of the two big feuds that are set to happen on Smackdown. The rumor is that Dean Ambrose, who just finished his feud with AJ Styles for the World Heavyweight Championship, will now be setting his sights on the WWE Intercontinental Title.
[embedit snippet=”Jon ads”]This started on the last episode of Smackdown when Dean Ambrose happened to be on Miz TV to talk about what happened at TLC which was on Sunday. This would lead Smackdown Live GM Daniel Bryan to announce an Intercontinental Title between the Miz and Dean Ambrose. This is not the first time Dean Ambrose was in a feud for the Intercontinental Title as he feuded with current WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens.
The another one is interesting because depending on who you talk to, you will get a different answer. One site is indicating that WWE will have AJ Styles feud with the Undertaker and another one is putting the indication out there that it will be AJ Styles in a feud with John Cena. If WWE goes the first route, then more than likely you should figure that Undertaker will take the belt from AJ Styles and be the WWE Champion as they head into WrestleMaina.
If they go the other route, then the story line will more than likely be John Cena trying to tie Ric Flair by winning his 16th title.
Before I go into how I would book the WWE championship, I would like to say I am not a John Cena fan. With all of that being said, I would wait to have him win the title at WrestleMania. I would have AJ Styles drop the title to Undertaker at Royal Rumble. Then on the following episode of Smackdown Live, I would an irate AJ Styles come out and demand a rematch against the Undertaker. At this point, you can have Daniel Bryan come out and say you will get your rematch at the Elimination Chamber PPV that will be a Smackdown event in February.
After Undertaker beats AJ Styles in the ring, you have a masked man come out and beat up Undertaker. As the beating is going on, you see the screen go to black. On the next Smackdown Live, you open with a man standing in the ring with a hood up. He starts talking for a few minutes and then takes the hood off, its John Cena. He goes into a whole promo and in this promo, he challenges Undertaker to a match at WrestleMania 33 in a career vs. title match. If WWE books it like this, then you can also turn John Cena heel, which is something that several WWE fans have been wanting for years.
This is just a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt.
