WWE Rumors: With NXT moving to USA Network, call-ups won’t be stopped
As it’s known, NXT is set to move to USA Network on September 18th. It’s worth noting that it won’t be fully on USA Network until October 2nd. The first hour of NXT will be on USA the weeks of the 18th and 25th. Since this move was announced, there has been one question asked by the WWE/NXT Universe.
Since NXT will be on USA Network, will there still be call-ups to the main roster?
According to the latest episode of the Wrestling Observer, call-ups to both Raw and Smackdown will still be going on. While NXT was exclusively on the WWE Network and it was an hour, call-ups really didn’t affect the flow. Because it was on for an hour, they were able to plug someone else into the spot. Now that they are set to go two hours, it could make things interesting. In all honesty, I won’t be surprised if we get guys from NXT UK, the main roster, and 205 Live to help fill out the roster. I will even go a step further and say that nothing would be shocking if we start seeing wrestlers from Evolve on WWE NXT.
Who should get called up and to which brand?
Now that Dave Meltzer mentioned how call ups will probably continue, it will be interesting to see who gets called up. Right off the back, I would like to Shayna Bazler, Velveteen Dream, and Pete Dunne being called up. As far as tag teams or factions, Undisputed Era is at the top of the list. I’d have Shayna Bazler and Pete Dunne go to Raw and have Dream and Undisputed Era go to Smackdown.
I’d like to make it clear that this is just a rumor, call-ups may not happen or may change but this is what is going around.
