WWE: It is Spring Cleaning time
For the last few years, the month after Wrestlemania is usually when we see superstars get released for several reasons. It has become bigger in recent years as we have seen guys like Cody Rhodes, Ryback, Wade Barrett, Zeb Coulter and others shown the door.
Well we got our first bunch of releases happening that included Josh Brendi, Andrea DiMarco, Mauro Ranallo and Chris Atkins. This was in addition to Simon Gotch and Taijri on the main roster. When it is Spring cleaning time, we typically will see as much as 8-10 wrestlers shown the door. While this is tough to predict, but I see the WWE releasing Darren Young, Eva Marie, and Summer Rae in addition. I did not pick these people because they are injured as of this writing, but that they have not made any impacts as of late.
Let us first look at Darren Young. Yes he was the Tag team champion with Titus O’Neil back in 2015, but that was the last thing he did of notability. Since the WWE has paired him with Hall of Famer Bob Backlund, he has gone flat. I am not knocking either talent, I am knocking the creative team who thought it was a good idea. Plus being injury prone doesn’t help, just ask Barrett.
As far as Summer Rae and Eva Marie, I can’t really think of any thing they have done. It is known that Eva Marie will likely be gone after the current season of Total Divas, but I see Summer Rae joining her as well. They were kept on I feel because of their looks and not their talents.
There are probably more people who I am not thinking of who will be released in the next few weeks. If I missed anyone, let me know in the comments below or tweet us @WrestlingINSC. We will provide the latest on the Spring Cleaning in the WWE.
